The Ministry of Education and Science and the Reserach Center for Energy, Informatics and Materials of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ICEIM-MANU), in co-operation with the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) and Directorate General Research, is organising an information event in Skopje on 26th April 2007 at the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts

The twin objective of this event is to inform Macedonian research and development organisations and researchers about the opportunities offered by the newly launched Research Framework Programme (FP7) and about the collaboration possibilities with the Joint Research Centre, the European Commission's own scientific and technical laboratories.

Representatives from the European Commission's Directorate General for Research will provide information, examples of specific work programmes as well as explain practical aspects of participation in FP7 calls.

The Joint Research Centre, which provides scientific and technological support for the EU policy-making process, will present its activities areas of priority for Macedonia, such as environment, food and agriculture.

The intention is to encourage dialogue, identify potential opportunities within FP7 and the possibilities for participation of Macedonian scientists at the specialised workshops and advanced training courses organised by JRC.
