International training courses for engineers from developing countries, organized by the Jaroslav Cerni Institute (JCI) and the Delft Institute, were held over a period of more than ten years (in the 1980's).Unfortunately, in the 1990's most of the contacts were either discontinued or were very rare.During the past several years JCI has been making significant efforts to re-activate its international co-operation.Among the activities JCI would highlight is, above all, its participation in the WATERWEB FP6 Project, under which JCI has a working relationship with specialists from the following institutions:The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (KVL), Denmark, Newcastle University (UN), UK, Lancaster University (LU), UK,Instituto Tecnologia Quimica e Biologica (ITQB), Portugal,Faculty of Agriculture, University of St. Cyril and Methodius (USCM), FYR of Macedonia,Furthermore, JCI has recently established a working relationship and has entered into a formal cooperation agreement with theInstitute of Hydraulics from Stuttgart.JCI also has an ongoing relationship with UNESCO's Water Institute from Delft and the Hungarian Water Institute VITUKI.JCI is currently making efforts to establish cooperation in the area of design documents preparation for specific projects in Libiya and Iran, but these activities are in their initial stages. |
