MECHANICAL ENGINEERING FACULTY OF UNIVERSITY OF NIS (MEF) (http://www.masfak.ni.ac.yu) is an educational and scientific institution, whose main activities include basic, specialist, and postgraduate studies. The faculty also conducts basic, applied, and development researches, as well as researches whose purpose is to develop education.

The founding of Department for Mechanical Engineering of Technological Faculty in Nis, in 1960, created the basis for academic education in the field of mechanical engineering. The Faculty was founded by the Law on the Amendments to the Law on Universities, introduced by National Parliament on May 18th 1960.

The Financial and Management Services of the Faculty have a fully computerized accounting system and with skilled personnel in the areas of human resources and projects management. Faculty is currently participating in about 60 research projects.
